akira^8GB says:
Sure, making a PSU from scratch sounds like a nightmare. The PC ones work well for most of these things. You have +12VDC and +5VDC in a PC PSU, you just need to measure if you have the right amount of amperes on each line.

Good luck!

CMDR says:
It'd probably be more worthwhile (and cheaper) for me to try that out that venture. Kinda handy i've picked up an old pc to gut out

akira^8GB says:
It's a good disk drive, many times more reliable than Commodore's drives. I used to have one myself.
From the looks of the pinout I am almost sure you can use a regular PC PSU to power this thing, provided you have the right plug. I think you can modify (extract one pin) of a 6 pin DIN plug to make this connector.

akira^8GB says:
That's an Excelerator FSD-2 if I am not wrong, so you can either source an Excelerator power supply or follow this pinout:

The pinout for the Oceanics / Excelerator Plus drive power supply
connector is as follows. This diagram is shown facing the rear of the
drive.

      +12VDC @ 1/2 Amp ------4 1------- +5VDC @ 1 Amp

                 Ground ------2 3------- Ground
                                  5------ no connection

Although the supply specs are the same as for a CBM 1541-II / 1581
supply, the connector is different. A Radio Shack # 274-003 DIN
connector will fit the Excelerator drive.

Reports on Lemon Amiga say that Excelerator is a relabeled MASTER-41. This proves it:
