it's not necessary but it's an easy mod to do and is a great introduction to the world of soldering and modding, if that's something you want to get into more.

loads of people have prosound mods - you should make "not having a prosound mod" your gimmick

It's not a necessary mod at all. Write music first, mod later.

It's easy. google image search "prosound mod" and look for the picture that shows where each wire goes.  Use that.

It's pretty simple, just be sure to read about making proper solder joints. The contacts are tiny, and there's not much room for error. Make sure you have a good clean tinned tip on your iron.

I recently got a DMG (It's yellow so I think that it's 2nd gen or whatever) and am thinking about doing the pro sound mod. But I wanna know if I should even try it, I have some experience with wiring and soldering but not a lot. To anyone that has done it, how easy was it and can it be done by novices?
Any help would be really great.
