Currently I own 3 Game Boy Pockets and only one DMG, and I gotta say that the Game Boy Pockets are (in my opinion) waaay sexier. But their sound (through the built-in speaker) is a lot quieter than the DMG's speaker. Why is that? Lower voltage? Smaller speaker? I never knew why.

I love the pocket! It was my very first gameboy and got me interested in gaming. I remember my whole town had this day every year where you put out crap you don't need anymore in boxes in front of your house, and then a truck came and picked it up. It was kind of a tradition for kids to look through the boxes and find stuff. I remember I was digging through my neighbor's box, and I pulled out a blue gameboy pocket with donkey kong land 2 in it. I remember being so excited and running home to test it. The screen was blank, but after about 3 minutes I realized that the contrast was all the way down.  Honestly, i don't remember how i remember this, but I do. XD
I really wish I hadn't sold that gameboy. I realize it kinda has sentimental value now

This is part of why I have a few Pro-Sound Game Boy Colors around (primarily because I am learning Carillon and want to use Pushpin). My clear purple one is my baby and go-to game boy right now. I also find the screen a lot more readable for general composing, especially in daylight.

The GBA and GBA SP run older games by literally having a small IC that is the entire CGB on a chip inside of the game boy advance—when you plug in an older cartridge, it hits a button in the bottom of the cartridge slot which activates the CGB chip instead of the Game Boy Advance main circuit.

So, in theory, the things you can write which will crash the MGB and even some DMGs will run on the Game Boy Color.

Problem I had with the Pocket is that it didn't supply enough power to the EMS cart that I use, had all kinds of weird screen-dimming and audio dropouts and fun, dmg doesn't have a problem with it though. Just something to consider if you're using an EMS flash cart.

My pocket is gorgeous and worth the money I spent on it, but she's quiet because of the prosound and eats batteries like crazy. I'm working on my perfect, favorite DMG at the moment supposed to be über durble

I just picked up a nice red DMG. it is in great condition, and i found it at the same place I got my pocket for $15 USD.

I do not like it as much for playing games, but I can notice a huge difference in sound quality. The DMG beats the pocket into the ground in that department. but the screen is better on the pocket. and the pocket is a sweet size.

If I am going on vacation or playing Pokemon or Final Fantasy in my downtime - Pocket

Does anyone know of a good online tutorial for prosound modding a Pocket? I followed a random YouTube tutorial a while back, and wound up destroying mine.
