Weird. I have used my MDs and Genesis with varied adapters without problems. Have you tried an  adaptor with higher amperage? Something like 1.5 or 2 amperes. If thwy have just 1 ampere, that could cause buzzing.

because the 2 pin chinese one i have makes a horrible ground loop buzz
i have  a 3 pin uk korg plug but the voltage is wrong
basically ive tried every plug i have and they all make this buzz as soon as i plug into line in
i checked the md w just phones and its fine no buzz
ive had similar problems with monitor speakers in china, basically elctrics her suck balls
so i figure maybe a 3 pin will fix the buzz
its the only thing i have nt tried

Why do you need a british adapter? Any adapter will work with any Megadrive you have.

as the title suggests i am looking for a uk adapter for ze sega megadrive. (I live in china so not easy to find)
if anyone has a spare and can hook me up i can paypal you the monies and for postage of course.
