the sad situation with the mgb is that its REALLY power struggling a lot of the internals run off five volts and rechargeable batteries like eneloop already only give 1.2 instead of 1.5 v so it won't run for an example an everdrive or other high power consumption cartridges, and especially not if you backlight it. but lithium ion batteries mostly run 3.7 (although not in a stable manner) which would in theory give you enough power to run both a backlit screen AND high power consumption cartridges! now i should clarify that i'm also new to this and i have not tried it myself (so please don't blame me if it does not work or ruins you gameboy) BUT i have seen it done before and it seemed to work as intended, also if anyone knows if the pocket have a switch regulator built in that would be great info!

i second the ds guy too. i have about 3 or 4 psp batteries wedged in my bag at all times cos its fecking annoying that battery dying when im trying to watch blood+ during my 'lesson planning times' at work. oooops er i mean when i am making tunes on lgpt.

It seems to me that having rechargeable batteries are far better. There is no need for modding if the batteries go bad and you could easily switch between normal and rechargeable if needed (the very reason I hate the rechargeable battery of the 3ds or ds, because if you run out of power you don't really have a back up)
