Just saw that this can use .XI format instruments! That one fact has convinced me to try it out.
kris k sunvox open mic on saturday night?
i'll consider it let's see if i can figure this thing out in time and make something listenable.
Well I just got the new version for iOS and I must say - it is very very spiffy. Many of the issues I touched on have been accounted for.
The only thing I can see which has room for improvement are the effect entering process, and the cut/copy/paste, which involved entering and selecting from very fiddly menus.
Has definitely gone from "some weird app i can't be bothered deleting because it cost me 600 yen" to "worth a poke about while on the train" status! Bravo.
i just downloaded sunvox to see what i could do with it. it's gonna take a while to learn to use it though, it's been ages since i've used a tracker. seems like it has everything it should though.
I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to have the tracker record as you play on a midi instrument; currently the cursor only scrolls with the song when playing pattern mode; and you can't edit while in pattern mode. :B
Also, I wanted to bump the thread, I discovered this tracker yesterday and I'm in love. I'm definitely going to make a lot of tracks with this, especially when I get it on a mobile device. :DDDD
If you mean looping the pattern and putting notes in real-time, then you're outta luck. If you mean just having the cursor scroll down a step each time you enter a note, the just set the recording step skip (or whatever it's called) to 1 or higher.
Don't forget to download the new SunVox 1.7!
Now with Virtual Analog Generator and real-time recording. Also ported to Android and Meego.

Thanks for the update!
the new Virtual Analog Generator is exactly what i've been waiting for! before, i remember having to put together a hugely complicated set up of filters and pattern effects, just to get an envelope filter envelope going. this will totally make things much easier.
btw, same thing with the new Vibrato pattern effect -- this too will vastly simplify my machine setup (i think before i needed to manually control a vibrato machine in order to do vibrato?)
While I agree that it's bit of a pain on iPods/iPhones due to the screen size, but on the iPad, it's total awesome sauce.
