You could have tons of virtual experience with writing songs, without having written any. One could have the innate ability to know what sounds good, and have a good enough ear to bring that to fruition without having written 99 literal songs.
One could've been writing the 99 in one's head for years, but they weren't good enough to export. You know those little tunes you hum? Those count. One's first actual written song could be one's 100th. It's ok.
