Hello. I was wondering how to open .sav and .lsdsng files. I coulden't find a thread already on this. Anyway... can you only open these with a transfer program or are there any emulators that can open these. working with a mac. Thanks in advance.
Sav files can be opened in any emulator that supports saves. LSDSNG can only be opened in the Song manager on the lsdj website, and then you cna ouput a new save file that you can copy onto a cart or in any emulator.
Each emulator handles save differently, but the best thing to do is open a rom, find the save it creates and then copy your project save there using that name. Once you start the rom your songs should be there for listening.
i'm fairly sure there's no way to edit .lsdsng and .sav files using a computer with the exception of a GB emulator, but you can view them with a few web tools and use LSDManager to extract+add songs to SAV files.

Wow I never knew of that site. I learn something new every day.
Here's the lsdjmanager:

Edit: referring to Aeros' link, not Sketch's

If it wasn't made clear, the LSDJ rom you're using will have to have the same name as the sav file. ... or rename the sav file so it's the same as the LSDJ rom, doesn't matter. You need to link it brah
There's also this: http://lsdsng.com/
For Mac, I STRONGLY suggest KiGB. For that one, you copy the sav into your "Battery RAM" folder. KiGB has dang good sound emulation on the Mac.

I'd recommend KiGB for Linux too, but I can't get it to work on my computer >.<
what emulator are you using? they all do it differently, to a certain degree.
KIGB, just got off work. Gonna try'um. Thanks eveyone!
Sorry for make this question here as it is not fully related to the topic.
I'm interested in add a lsdj song
importer to DefleMask. I should reverse engineer the lsdsng format or there is a spec out there?.

Nitro2k01 is probably one of the best people to talk to about this, not sure if he'll know how, but he'll know the best place to start.

okay so in KIGB...
STEP ONE - put the SAV file in this folder -
Library - > Application Support - > Bannister - > KIGB - > Battery Ram
STEP TWO - make sure the SAV file has the same name as the ROM. so if the rom is LSDJ.GB then rename the SAV file to LSDJ.SAV. the names of these files don't matter, they just need to be identical.
STEP THREE - there is no step three. just open the rom and you should see the sav file.

LSDJ sram is broken into work sram and saved sram, so the first half of the file is whatever is loaded into memory, and the last is the compressed versions of all the songs.
