Nathaniel "Natty" Adams: writer, musician, and President of
the Institute for Elegance. He composes music using
software running on hand-held devices such as the
PlayStation Portable, Nintendo Game Boy, and (as soon as
someone invents some music software for it,) the Amazon
Kindle 2. He resides in Jersey City, New Jersey, where he
spends most of his time fully dressed. He is the inventor of
many cocktails and the beneficiary of many kisses and
flutters of eyelashes.

Former Boston rock scene alums Lydia Marsala and James
Therrien (Fugitive Kind), combine forces for a new take on
live electronic music. Using a unique blend of live vocals,
acoustic instruments, gameboys and vintage electronics,
Br1ght Pr1mate explores, bends and completely ignores the
boundaries of Chiptune, Pop, Art, Electro, Rock, Jazz and
Soul for a futuristic fusion that would be right at home on
your favorite space ship.

“It’s not so much the preservation of youth, as the
celebration of it,” says Chris Mahoney, better known in
creative circles as Active Knowledge. Firing notes through an
original Nintendo Entertainment System, the Active
Knowledge mixes vintage video game sounds with
synchronized glitchy, spastic visuals. The idea is
unadulterated fun, with a focus on the unadult. Active
Knowledge’s debut album “Pyramid Neon” is available to
download for free on his site.

"Princeton, New Jersey-based DJ and producer Christian
Montoya produces music on the DS-10 that's drier and more
exposed, as he programs intricate bass music on the
unprocessed Nintendo cart. The results, are a perfect
marriage of game chip-waveform rawness, nude bass and
synth and percussion sounds, and carefully-concocted
grooves."
