I'm changing the power LED that is next to the screen in my GBC to white.
For white, which will look nicer once installed inside the gameboy, Diffused or Water Clear?

Diffused is pretty typical for power indicator applications.
This is worth taking a look through: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=di … p;_sacat=0
water clear is cool if you want a flashlight aiming at your face while you use the gameboy

Maybe with a super bright LED. The stock LED is clear.
it's also not white.
There's such thing as low brightness white LEDs...
Ok. Then there's surely such a thing as 10k resistors...

Are you replacing R1 (1k) near the top edge of the board above the LED? I put some water clears in and they are blinding.
My point is, you can always make a LED less bright by putting in a bigger resistor value. I just grabbed a value out of my ass. Experiment and find a value that works well for your LED. 10k is probably too big for the purpose.
But is that the resistor to replace? I'm having trouble following the traces but it looks like that R1 is for the LED.
