i have a sound card where it's impossible to activate a Wavmix/What U Hear/stereo effigy and I'm interested in recording software which just hacks its own stereo mix together, both for sound recording and screen recording. any suggestions? thank8

If you dare, you could record only left and only right, then drag them into time on your editor of choice. I also once plugged the output of an old sound card into its own input. Beware of feedback before attempting.

The issue isn't about mono or stereo. "Stereo Mix" is just the word used for the sound that is output. If there's no stereo mix on the soundcard, chances are there's no "Mono Mix" either. The issue is trying to record the sound that comes out of the speakers directly from the soundcard. In case there is any confusion.

A better term would be output mix or something, come to think of it.

Edit: Maybe you could run Linux in a virtual box and use JACK?

In a more extreme than mentioned time I had two sound cards in the same PC....

What for? To buy the software? Or re-invent it?

There's a demo of it. And buying software is good. Perhaps the OP should be amended.
