Hi, I'm based in the St. Louis area and will be in LA March 8-12, 2013. I was wondering if there are any venues who may be having 8-bit/chiptune shows/functions during those dates. Love to play a 20-30 minute set while I'm in town, and connect with fellow artists while I'm there.
Any suggestions for points of contact or chiptune groups in the LA area would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Awesome. Are you in the LA area? Are there any venues you know of who have hosted chiptunes/8-bit/experimental performances before? I don't mind handling the booking, if you could get me some starting points. (I do some work for music venue and radio station and kind of know the game, but I'm unfamiliar with the LA area.)

you might wanna talk to Wizwars and his group of chiptuners.. the LA chipthrash scene is kinda his deal

There is a cool chiptune show happening in Temecula on March 8th but that's at least a couple hours from Los Angeles and the line up is way way way full. Other than that, I do not know of anything happening. Seeing as how it is already almost March 1st, it would be pretty much impossible to find a venue to host something with such short notice. I usually book shows at least two or three months in advance and even then I've found difficulty getting venues because other promoters like to do this as well. If most of the cool indie / art spaces I used to frequent in 2011 hadn't all closed down, it would be a lot easier to do something but as is, I can't really help

That's all the way out in the valley, incredibly far from me so unfortunately I won't be able to play, but I did just hit up Jesse from 1000 Needles, who lives in the valley.
