Has anybody tried running the EMS cartridge software in a virtual machine? Is there any reason why it just wouldn't work? I'm thinking of trying it out in VirtualBox on my Linux OS.

I run Windows XP in Parallels on my Macbook Pro and runs the EMS software fine.

Have you considered using the open source EMS software? It's probably takes a little work to set up, but should be worth it.

I use a VM plus a USB parallel port for my old exchanger 2 as well and it works fine.
