Hi,

long time lurker, first time poster. I've searched the Googlesphere fairly thoroughly as well as this forum and I'm fairly certain I couldn't find anything related to this issue, so please forgive me if I am in fact bringing up something people have answered before. Anyways!

I'm having a huge issue recording from my pro sound modded Gameboy. Specifically, none of my stereo separation seems to be recording right...things that I've panned hard left and hard right, which sound absolutely correct when using the GB's headphone jack, are sounding like they are being played center when recording from the Pro Sound out...I've tested this on two separate GameBoys, one with RCAs and 1/8" and another with only 1/8"...I didn't do the mods myself but I got them done by reputable places online and figure that's not the issue. Is this just how the Pro Sound is supposed to sound like and I'm being dumb? Any insight would be appreciated, as this is actually kind of an urgent issue for me ^^; thanks.

Record a file with the same note first played center, then panned left, then panned right and upload, and I'll try to diagnose the problem.

Hi, thanks for the offer. I tried recording those notes like you said, and as it turns out the actual waveforms were showing up correctly--as in, only the right channel was there when I panned right, and so on. It appears the issue is actually my recording interface, which for some unholy reason is deciding to sum all channels as mono on playback. The actual recordings are turning out fine. I feel really stupid, but thanks for suggesting I do that anyway else I probably wouldn't have guessed it was the interface neutral thanks! For the record, I'm using an MBox2 Mini (my better interface is currently not running), so if anyone else is thinking of recording with one of those, be aware of this x_x
