audacity i have used it for years and still cant figure out the tracker function i mean
Nah, certainly not. It's pretty crap for sure, but it lacks a bit in the "unintuitive" department
I'd vote for JCH or SDI - they're extremely powerful but the interface is simply atrocious.
lsdj if you don't watch tutorials
piggy if you don't use/ have never used lsdj
http://www.sonicspot.com/versatracker/versatracker.html this one of the worst trackers i ever came across for real
I learnt LSDJ first which means 90% of other trackers are like foreign language to me.
I'd say beepola, not because it's hard, but because if you don't know how to use it you'll quickly deafen people.

LSDJ has a smoother transition to Ableton Live than to any tracker.

beepola is sooooo simple tho
I should use beepola to deafen people.
Thank you for the recommendation.

Funny, I love AT2 more than any other tracker. I can hardly even use any others because of how comfortable I am with it. I just love its interface. But... I'd probably say Renoise is not very good to start on. Not that it isn't capable... far from it. It just seems very overwhelming, especially for a beginner. Hell, I still can't get it lol.
My first tracker was Milkytracker though. I like it now, but I remember hating it to death when I was learning. I still like it more than Renoise...
