I played at the littleBits x Korg synth kit launch event last night. I was given a 4 of the kits a few weeks ago to work with and prepare for my performance using them -- super fun to mess with. They sound surprisingly good and are great for spontaneous experimentation. I left one kit's worth of them on the table in the living room so I could just mess around while watching tv / hanging out / etc. and came up with some good ideas this way, that I then took into the studio and incorporated into my performance. There are definitely a lot of possibilities for expanding the littleBits synth line with things like midi input, cv control, wavefolders, etc. Great start, and interested to see where they take it from here.
Here is a shot of my setup for the launch party ...
And a 6 sec video clip that someone at the show posted to vine ...
How exciting! They look like a blast to play with and pretty easy to use.
oh, you can add midi in? that was my big question on these... looks like theyre fun to mess with, may have to grab one or two eventually
Look like voltage converters boards from the Cirklon. Very cool!
Cirklon ROCKS! I love mine.

There aren't midi-input bits yet, but I would guess that would be a pretty obvious future add-on. The CV-input boards that I used to sequence the bits with the Cirklon for my set were custom / prototypes.
fucking korg. suddenly realized the other night round a friends with all the synths out that everything we have is korg.
