So winamp's not going to be updated anymore.
Luckily for me, our copies won't self destruct and we can carry on using Chipamp plugins to playback our collections.

Am I the only one still using it? Surely not, it's library & playlist are still the most functional of all the alternatives.
More importantly, who will whip the llama's ass now ?

RIP winamp http://www.winampmemorial.net/

Long live Winamp!
The only skin you'll ever need...

winamp plugins (in_blah.dll) work in xmplay if you need something else
all the cool music listeners seem to be using foobar2000 now though

foobar2k works perfectly for straight up sound files; and XMPlay is the best choice for modules and chip files

so it's not really like we're dead in the water without WinAmp.

I still use Winamp (whenever I use Windows), only player I've ever used.  Simple, pretty lightweight, & plugins that let you play chip music files & separate channels etc... from almost any system I can think of, Nintendo, Gameboy, Genesis, others.  Sad to see it go.  Guess I'll take a look at XMPlay then.

Will they opensource WinAmp sourcecode?

Ha, well I saw him link it on twitter, but didn't realise he'd made it. Nice.
