I'm having trouble finding a definitive answer on the whole output buffering/output decoupling whatever for audio out mods.  There was a good thread on 8bc about it, but alas.  Can anyone explain the process and the theory behind it?  If memory serves it was a 10k resistor and a 10uf capacitor.

Would the signal chain be like this?:

Source --> Negative Cap Lead --> Resistor --> Jack

Bump de bump.  If I wasn't clear enough, I'm talking about adding a line out to various systems.  If I recall, it was well advised to add a resistor and a capacitor to protect against reverse voltage spikes or something along those lines.

a 10uF cap and a 10K resistor in series should be fine in most cases and certainly won't hurt.
