I'd like to get some new gear to play around with. Gameboys are cool and all, but I'd like to branch out a little bit. Currently I'm just using two gameboys with lsdj mixed with a Numark X6. Occasionally I'll add a reverb pedal to the mix.
I can't spend any more than 200$. I'm looking for something small that I can synthesize and compose with. (not just a keyboard synth, but something I can program.) It doesn't necessarily have to be a tracker although that would be a bonus, and it would need to have support for multiple song saves. Ideally I could sync it with my lsdj setup without too much hassle.
LGPT seems like a viable option, but I'm curious for anything else out there. And I don't have a psp or anything else to run it on besides a laptop.
Some common things I see people mixing into their chip setups are Kaoss Pads and Kaossilators, I've looked these over but I'm hesitant to get one. I've played around with a friends kaossilator and it's a ton of noisy fun, but only being able to hold and loop a couple bars of music at a time does not seem useful to me.
I've been eyeing the Nerdsynth, that's probably the closest thing to what I'm looking for, but who knows when it will be available.
The Bastl Instruments and the Acid-Py groove box look pretty cool.
