Okay, so this is a bit of an odd request/query, but I have several old computers (from windows 2000 to XP, and a reeeeaaaaalll slow windows 7) lurking around that are not too good when it comes to processing power, and they struggle to handle most modern DAWs... So, I was wondering if anyone knew whether it's possible to find/where I can find old versions of DAWs to use with these computers?! (preferably without simultaneously downloading a virus, and with minimal expense if possible )
Thanks!
Hmm...
Try opensource>
http://lmms.sourceforge.net
http://traverso-daw.org/windows.html
http://psycle.sourceforge.net/
or commercial / both should work on wxp or w2k>
www.renoise.com
www.reaper.fm
Or EBAY try to find old versions of modern DAWs...
There is also "VSTi farm" software and they released it for free>
http://www.fx-max.com/fxt/product.html
So you will run DAW on one computer and VSTi on second etc etc...

^I was unaware of this, but that sounds exactly what I'd want to do, so I'll look into it! Thanks
also check out reaper.
^Already done that loving reaper, but it's sometimes a bit too taxing on the CPU...
Grab an old version of Sony Acid Pro + Soundforge!
^Will also check, thank you
Thank you everyone for the replies!
