Are you sure you're not thinking of "Pocket Music"? The gbc version is pretty cool. The samples used in the gba version are horribly lofi in a not cool way.

It's Pocket Music! A couple of people on here are familiar with it. I think it sounds crap and is VERY limited compared to LSDJ/nanoloop, and don't like it too much. Go steal a rom somewhere and try it out for yourself.
