What is the best store to get simple pots and switches? Because RadioShack is a ripoff. Know of any good surplus dealers?

the type and rating of potentiometer you use really depends on what exactly you're doing with it

I'm not exactly new to electronics, I just don't know how much resistance i need. I'll probably pick up a few anywhere from 5k to 1M.
