Hi everyone,

First of all, I'd like to apologize for my poor english skills and for the fact that the question may have already been asked... I searched on the forum and learnt many thing but couldn't find the answer for my question.

I'm a bass player who is interested in chip music for a long time but never really took the time to gather the gear to make this kind of music. I've been thinking about it a lot lately, and found informations on sequencers such as LSDJ or Nanoloop... And here is the thing : I'd like to make a project with instruments such as bass/guitar and drums + chip music. But I'd like the chip sounds to be played "live" by an instrumentalist on a device (midi I guess ?) like a keyboard (or something), connected to a gameboy (for example). Is it even possible ? Can a MIDI device control a gameboy like... If you hit the "A" key on the keyboard, the gameboy will play an "A" ? I'm aware that my question may sound really naive, but I just couldn't find the answer to this precise question on the forum...

Thanks a lot for reading me ! Keep it up.

Both are extreme but as was mentioned before a midi keyboard into mGB (gameboy) or MidiNES cart (NES) or MSSIAH cart (C64) or Synth Cart (Atari 2600 with Highly Liquid midi interface) will work. There are other solutions that are a bit more DIY such as some of Littlescale's Teensey projects or the synth projects at MidiBox.org. smile
