I come from a modest sized online community of 8 bit reggae producers and I wondered if anyone here knew of anyone who has made chip tune in a reggae fashion? Maybe they didnt know there were many others doing it? There has recently been a book written and released about the creolization of it too.
here is the 8 bit reggae facebook group

Or maybe some of you would now be interested in giving it a go?

Yeah jahtari were the first (and pretty much only) label doing dedicated 8 bit reggae stuffs. I remember when I firstfound them after making a bunch of electric reggae myself, i was quite taken back, and bought their entire CD catalogue at the time !

It's a little weird how different scenes the 8-bit reggae and chipmusic are. Many of those reggae tracks use sounds and tricks that are considered as gimmicks in chipmusic, but that can't be the reason for such a diversion

expand? whats a gimmick in chip music?

I think a lot of 8 bit reggae is done with samples or synths like chipsounds instead of hardware
