Is there a key to set the default step speed ?
And / or can multiple steps be selected, then the speed changed ?
There is an explanation how the sync interface works from within defMON in the "WHAT'S NEW?" section on this page:
hello,
defMON looks rather cool, but at the moment I don't need the sync things.
I've already invested some time to learn how to use SidWizard, do you think it's worth learning defMON too, or are they similarly powerful?

I've found that defMON offers a lot of... freedom.

freedom.
Oh, yeah.
defMON is very versatile tracker.
There's not really much to learn. imho, all you should know is the hotkeys (keycombos) and what every column in sidtab does.
There is no commands at all, defMON doesn't make a distinction between instruments and commands/effects/whatever. You program all the stuff yourself.
And that's really nice.
ok, thank you for the hints. It can probably give me more creative ideas!
Hello! Great to find this place
Some questions I got about defMON.. If I stand on some nr or notes I can press Return/Enter to put it in a row under but how do I push it up?
Trying my best to learn the SIDTab it is pretty heavy but I love to explore it basically.
What does the ST in DL-section stands for? STep, STart or STop?
Big thanks to Frantic (hands down) and Ilkke for the Guide
Cheers
d.
Hello and welcome!
To answer your questions:
-shift+return to remove a row (and pull the contents up)
-DL column is for 'delay' = how many ticks to wait before moving to the next line. A value of ST means 'stop', that is, wait forever.
The best way to learn the sidTAB is really to learn about the SID chip itself and how it works.
Having said that, defMON is quite friendly to experimentation and prone to happy accidents
Since not too many people are using defMON, I thought it'd be cool to share our tunes/wips here?
Here's the latest two I made: (as c64 exe files)
http://csdb.dk/release/?id=139112
http://csdb.dk/release/?id=134563
Really nice work there!!
So if I select the line with the ST, it means that the exact line has no function more than Stop?
Thanks for the help

It would be nice for new users (like me), if people would post more worktunes on the defMON wiki page. There is only one there, by Scannerboy.
And btw: is there a way to export the song as .sid file?
Really nice work there!!

No.
It will do whatever is on the line. Just never move to the next line.
ST = delay of infinity
