Wow, this sounds really good, i gotta say. Impressive.
You got the slap, what about the pop?

I know I'm a little late to this thread, but this slap sound is perfect. Thanks for sharing! I'm using it in this work in progress (starting around 2:15).
Only tweak I made was a transpose value of 07 in the table to make it a perfect 5th. I also found that using an occasional R01 command gives you that rapid slap/pop sound bass players sometimes use.
Here's a vid of just the slap bass section:

Nice, dude! I like the use of the R command. It definitely makes the 'slap' aspect of the bass more apparent. Glad to see this tutorial still has some traction lmao

this slap bass track is the best chip thing i've heard for ages oO
Now this is really funky. Looks like I have a Gameboy track that I actually like now.
I tried my best to do a slap bass using PWM on one of the pulse channels in this cover I did of Phantom Pt II by Justice (comes in around 1:12)
Pretty sure I just used a table to switch from 50% to 12.5% for one row, then back to 50%. I think I also did a quick L -> R -> L+R pan as well just to make it pop out of the mix a bit more.
