Hi there!, I need to share with you guys this strange feeling that I have since I was a kid: The soul of the music that I love can only be found on certain Chipmusic and certain Japanese Pop and anime openings/endings.
You will say WTF? But the thing is that it doesn't matter what the instruments are, I'm not talking here about sound techniques or synthesizers; the soul and the melodies used in various compositions of this two worlds is really really similar, I know that Japan is a HUGE influence in the games/OSTs world but this style "should" be a general result of a simple feeling, not a japan only conclusion.
I have tried all my life to search for alternative sources for this kind music patterns in another places without any type of success.
But, what's the special thing in those tracks? I could define the feeling very vaguely with:
Happy melancholy
The sun starts to shine after a rainy day
Young and innocent first love
Please see and try to understand how that feelings are related with each other: It is a crash between a good moment and a bad moment resulting in HOPE and faith.
I'm pretty sure that this feeling doesn't have a NAME so far, it is actually an independent feeling and this is why it is so difficult to search for this type of melodies and chords, the mix between happiness, sadness and hope is a new feeling that deserves his own name.
I'm just crazy? Please tell me if so.
I really need some help trying to identify this style (if it actually exists) and also to find songs from other sources.
