Boston8Bit.com / http://www.boston8bit.com/
A leading source for news, reviews and interviews on Chiptune music, Boston8Bit also holds monthly concert series featuring the best local, national and international Chiptune artists and brings the sweet bleep bloop sounds to your ears.
Br1ght Pr1mate (Boston, MA) / http://www.brightprimate.bandcamp.com/
Former Boston rock scene alum, Lydia and James (Fugitive Kind), combine forces for a new take on live electronic music. Using a unique blend of live vocals, acoustic instruments, gameboys and vintage electronics, Br1ght Pr1mate explores, bends and completely ignores the boundaries of Chiptune, Pop, Art, Electro, Rock, Jazz and Soul for a futuristic fusion that would be right at home on your favorite space ship.
Je Deviens DJ En 3 Jours (France) / http://www.myspace.com/jddj3j
Je Deviens DJ en 3 Jours (or “I learned to DJ in 3 days ) wanted to create powerful romantic pop, but ever since seeing the Nullsleep Street Performance video he just makes repetitive binary loops on Nanoloop 1.3. He took it upon himself to be more melodic by creating a new superhero dressed in black leather: The Mini-Nullsleep. Using his lazer light eyes, JDDJ3J draws unique waveforms on the Nintendo Gameboy and Nintendo Famicom in order to see what those little guys can do. Watch out! If you’re a girl you might get a supernova kiss.
Cream in all Mustache (France) / http://www.myspace.com/creaminallmoustache
Lead partner in crime to JDDe3J, Cream in all Mustache plays atonal, funky funky French electro beats and covers David Hasselhoff tunes whenever possible.
Cathode Rays (Cambridge, MA) / http://www.cathoderaysmusic.com/home.html
Cathode Rays is a blend of chiptunes and rock music with Rob Lynch (Two Sheds) on a Super Nintendo controller, Avi Paul Weinstein on guitar, and Kedaar Kumar on drums. Lynch, as Two Sheds, released an album in 2006 programmed for the Nintendo Entertainment System and in 2009 was on a compilation of electronic musicians who work at Harmonix, a video game company in Cambridge.
Disasterpeace (Brookline, MA) / http://www.disasterpeace.com/
Travel through deep forbidden forests and the far reaches of space! Disasterpeace is a curious form of chipmusic that blends progressive rock, minimalist, jazz, and dance tendencies with an aesthetic sensibility that pays homage to the sounds of the past yet that is largely synthesized from the ground up... He’s kind of a big deal, too: http://www.time.com/time/arts/article/0
