I recently got my EMS USB cart and it works splendidly. Unfortunately, Gargoyle's Quest is the first non-working rom I've tried loading. The screen just goes blank when the file is selected and stays frozen that way.
Does Gargoyle's Quest work on your cart? If so, which cart + system are you using?
Gargoyle's Quest works fine with my EMS 64m USB cart.

I don't think its illegal to download the rom if you already own a real Gargoyle's Quest cartridge.
Oh cool, thanks a lot! That worked! 
I don't know if it was a junk rom I had before or if removing other roms from page 2 and having it be the default ROM fixed the problem, but I'm a happy camper now.
Now I can finish sampling the soundtrack properly, as the GBS file is missing a track.
