Oh and of course, 64Mula. I guess old dudes/people with demoscene-connections know them but havent seen their name mentioned much/at all on here or 8bc.
We're playing with them on saturday, woot!
64mula is crazy, one of him gave me their CD when I played in Turku, he was a great guy too!

Yeah, supernice guys!
Yerzmyey is actually brilliant.

Syphus is a local genius.
http://syphus.net/
Aliceffekt has done brilliant chiptune based things, more so under his MALICE side project.
You got the "that are cool" bit right, but is there really anyone here who doesn't know Yerzmyey?
I didn't mention mano (different guy to mano who's sometimes in #chipmusic)! Lovely sugary sweet tracks, but quality way over quantity (I could only find four).
Looking for mano, I saw Manwe's name in the list, and I think he deserves a mention too (although he's fairly well known), he did some great songs for a Sands musicdisk called Toy Songs 3.

He's definitely under appreciated though, and for all the newcomers I suppose or people who just might have, perish the thought, missed him out for some reason. Like I'd question if anyone didn't know Syphus, but that's pretty much because he's on my doorstep.
ALSO another local artist I really like but feel he doesn't get enough recognition is Cerebral Scars, really nice guy with some great music behind him, seen him live a few times, once he even shared a stage with Syphus and GOTO80.
AND
FTFX

Agree with syphus, he's one of the nicest blokes i've ever met and a true 'true' genius. For anyone who's never heard his stuff do yourself a favour and take your pick from here:
Not live gigging anymore but hopefully that'll turn into writing more tunes!

Yerzmyey
Syphus
Aliceffekt
Thse are not unknown at all. And all the others you posted after, forsterer.
Try to keep the focus of the thread so we can discover brilliant NEW stuff.
I should recommend Cerebral Scars too though, he doesn't seem to be flashed around much and I like his stuff.
You made a good point about the topic title itself so I changed its title, thanks.

I don't know how many people know about Penny and Ashtray, they (he?) certainly aren't talked about. Great music, and not going for nostalgia or blip-blop at all, it's just dance music made with chip sounds. Maybe you'll like it then, akira ... or maybe not.
Edit: four more tracks here, less chippy, but still fairly relevant I would say. I prefer the other one though.

Yeah saying under appreciated is a little ambiguous and subjective.
HOWEVER
I bring you all .sid files of the genius John Dunn who did pieces for Platoon, Rambo 3 and the Ocean Loader.

mp3s are also available and that site is a handy little resource for finding .sid files from games.

Germlin, released youth pixxel on adaadat years ago, then went onto do strange things with gay against you.
Worth checking out but not strictly chip (most of the dmg stuff of youth pixxel is a mixture of trippy H and samples)
http://www.adaadat.com/releases.html#germlin
cow'p's split and tracks on the comps on that page are also excellent

There are a lot of cool relatively unknown artists I've found in places like the old 2a03 archive and the HVSC.
In the 2a03 archive, there's pod_dob (sp?). His music is absolutely amazing! sLiVeR's cool too.
In the HVSC, check out Jammer! You won't regret it
Oh, and if you can find anything on him, try and listen to mint. I think Blitz Lunar has like an archive of a bunch of his tracks. They're superb.
