Is it possible to record a song directly into Ableton Live and add effects as you record (using Ableton like an effects processor basically)?

Yes you can. Loads of tut's online as well as video's.

yes. that is how I use it. you just need to arm the tracks and record and while you are playing then fiddle with them knobs. works best if you have a midi controller I guess but a mouse works.
you can split left and right audio tracks in LSDJ and in ableton take each in separately and turn each into a mono feed so that you can have two different effects to play with on two different instruments.

Thanks! I'm using the Launchpad to trigger samples right now but I can use it to mess with the parameters also.
