Recently, I've been using my 1/8 stereo to 1/4 stereo jack adapter to use with my instrument cable while plugged into my DMG. That's great n' all, but it comes loose if I move it slightly.

Anyone know where I can find a good (shielded) 1/8 stereo to 1/4 stereo cable?

The ones from Radio Shack are almost always 1/8 mono to 1/4 stereo.

Thanks!

Guitar Center usually stock them, too.

^ I'd be plugging this into a PA (two speakers). My adapter set-up works fine. I'd need a stereo-to-stereo cable, or am I wrong?

when the cable figuratively shits the bed, you will have more in reserve

This is good advice. Having gear to just make patches is cheaper in the long run too.

Ok, just to clarify:

Those Hosa's - I'd be plugging in the 1/8 male into the GB then BOTH of the 1/4s go into my PA (if I'm using a PA at the time)?

Also, this is what's meant by shielded cables: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shielded_cable

Parts. He's saying you should learn to build your own cables. I concur. Best and cheapest way to always have reliable cables.

Ah, ok.

Well, I'm assuming there's some soldering/stripping involved. I have no problem with learning how to solder! Any good faqs/tutorials?

It'll help me in the long run (I eventually want to make an LSDJ ps/2 keyboard).

i avoid hosa if i can help it... they are really shitty. had the tip break off inside my soundcard a while back + was lucky it didnt destroy anything.

i use redco's custom cable service now. cheaper than guitar center (i think) and can customize whatever you want - brand, length, connectors, etc. i wish i made my own cables.

i doubt you are going to find any shielded insert cables.  just get the hosa i linked to

you need BOTH 1/4 cables plugged in to get stereo.  otherwise its just going to be right or left channel.

What specs did you pick for your cables?

I have a bunch of Hosas from Best Buy... I guess I better be careful.
