That's a lovely list, but just how is ArtRage (for example) supposed to be a pixel tool?

@iLKke, thx man! big_smile... about ArtRage, honestly no really sure (because i don't own the program) but as far as i readed is possible to made pixels there, but no idea how! yikes... really thx for the notes and corrections! :DDD... that's the main idea of this list! :XXXX, apart from have a reference list aswell!...

I really like ArtRage, I've used it, and it's a natural media simulator, like Painter (made by some of the original authors as well!). I honestly couldn't find anything even remotely related to pixel art in it. It can't open two views at the same time, neither are there fill, brush or index palette functions. Some programs (like PhotoShop) are flexible enough so they can be used for pixel art even tho it's not their original purpose, but ArtRage, although awesome, is NOT one of those programs big_smile

Perhaps you can remember where you read that it's possible to make pixel art in it? Maybe it was ArtGem, not ArtRage?

also, if i remember Painter is able to do pixelart too, but the config was a pain, if i remember you had to add a brush and a plug-in, but that was about 6-7 years ago so have no idea how it;s now!... i will investigate about it too..

know if this programs are able to do pixel art? - they are all MAC so i can't test them! XD

Ilkke, i was thinking to add some "non-pixel" programs but art related in a short list as Painter / Colors (ds/iphone) and few others. Just to not create a new list! LOL... what do you think??

What a lovely list; thank you for putting this together! I will look through my machines (Mac, PC, and Linux) to see if I have anything to add here.
Just a small note: The posted link for YY-CHR is an old version--0.97, I think. Version 0.99 includes a nametable editor, which is a huuuge new feature for this program. YY-CHR 0.99 can be downloaded at http://www.smwcentral.net/download.php? … type=tools
