BTW, for those looking to try the backlights in the MGB- I intend to test the LEDx3 in my MGB soon, documentation will follow.

Great. The main issue is working around one of the main screw posts.  Drilling a hole right through the panel may actually be the best idea. It'll also help in keeping the panel in place.

My MGB has already had the living daylights modded out of it on more than one occasion now, and I think I may have already removed that screw and done something different for mounting. Heh, so my results might not be indicative of normal MGBs at all, but should hopefully still be useful. smile

Awesome stuff. Does Krikzz have any plans for a gameboy one? I guess he's just covering the consoles that have received minimal attention at the moment.

Also saw the NES Midi cart earlier today. Very, very awesome. I'll do a pre-order if I can afford it.

damn, i'm kind of interested, but mod2psg outputs vgm instead of kss. would MML be the only choice for writing GG music to use with the everdrive?

Yes!  and that's pretty much all the info on it.

there is a VGM player you might like to check out: http://www.smspower.org/maxim/SMSSoftware/VGMPlayer

it may help out in this...  this cart handles SMS roms, so it shouldn't be an issue running this software and playing back VGM this way...

and, next up are n64 carts i believe.  and, yeah, gameboy development is going to happen is about all i know as well.

hello everybody -

been meaning to get these done for a while, and a recent CM.org post jogged my memory (thanks m00dawg!).  better late than never...

http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product/capacitor-kits

pdf and powerpoint format installation guides are up as well.

the aluminum electrolytic capacitors inside many a video game console are past their expected use-periods.  after a while the capacitance value will change, meaning your console isn't functioning up to specs.  these are convenient kits for replacing all these parts inside your DMG.

this includes the caps for the main PCB, the LCD PCB, the power supply PCB, as well as the headphone PCB.

the DMG kits have been tested with the following:

DMG-CPU: 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08
DMG-LCD: 05, 06

the power supply PCBs vary between revisions but all have been accounted for in the kit.

the headphone PCBs are the same throughout the revisions.

till next time, keep chipping!  NES kits next wink

Awesome. I'll grab some kits. It'll save me the trouble of manually ordering all the caps. These will be nice for when I do CPU swaps, as the capacitors can explode from the heat and generally need to be removed.
