Inconveniently so.,
It's a matter of preference. Scanlines are an artifact. I got used to my display being uninterlaced. I happen to think it's much better.
OK so i got one of these easyCap 2.0 devices, and the driver that came with it doesnt work. My card is recognized as "SM-USB 007" instead of whatever shit the "manual" says.
I downloaded a driver off the interwebs and fired up Virtualdub, but i get no image at all.
Halp?
i used USB-AVCPTSetup_For_Win7.zip from the internet (if this isn't what you have got?) for drivers and then on the settings for the thing i just went through all the different settings, PAL/n PAL/b PAL/whatever until i found the one that gives the picture in colour
i am using the "NCH DEBUT" software
and there's no lag, i can even play games >:O
edit: with a easycap 2

i think that is the right dirvers
Finding the right client software is a bit of a chore. Some are terrible, with dismal frame rates, while other softwares on the same hardware will look great.
I always got good results with U-Broadcast, but I haven't used it in the last couple of years.

Thanks for that.
I forgot to mention I am running WinXP.
The thing came with drivers but for the wrong chipset
I was going to buy one of these things from http://www.digitalpromo.co.uk as its local to me, its more expensive than the ebay ones but according to the manufacturers website easycaps are fake copies so they changed the design of the product and renamed it to ezcap. http://www.ezcap.tv/
Lots of problems in the FAQ answered with 'you have bought a fake'.
Yeah I know it is a chinese fake, but it is still supposed to work somehow
mine is the fake i think?
its just a question of getting a working driver for somewhere sorry akira the ones i posted are only for windows 7

This should be what you need. Let me know if there are any issues.
Tested with both XP and Vista using Golden Videos
Use AMCap to monitor the Amiga in a live/studio setup.
maybe ot but my fav display is an old security monitor my work was tossing (actually 2 of them). required an rca/bnc adapter... but the convenient thing is being able to plug in multiple sources and switch between them with a button on the front. plus supporting pal and ntsc. currently have 2 amigas and an old s-760 sampler plugged into it. i've seen similar monitors around in small sizes too... not sure if they were in color or not. but, if you really want to get fancy you can look into getting a small industrial display: http://www.logicsupply.com/products/800tpc_lh_of
