That tutorial is for GB Pocket, but the principle should be pretty much the same.

I'm pretty sure it just uses the ground that is already connected.
Gonna bump this and ask a question. Will it reduce the output volume for the headphones? I noticed in the tutorial for Pocket he didn't remove the resistors. I've got a GBC with removed speaker and resistors with an internal mod and the volume in the headphones is very quiet (of course not when I put it through the amp and the mixer) and I want to do the second one for when I'm out and about and can have a good volume in my headphones.
