Thanks! Here's the official press release:
Following the release of their 2009 self-titled chip-hop masterpiece, the droids behind eclectic Seattle trio Supercommuter powered down into temporary stasis while plotting the next phase of their robot revolution. In mid-2011 radio silence was broken by fragmented but cunningly encoded messages concerning their imminent return.
With the release of their sophomore effort, Products of Science, upon us, we humans again cower before the musical might of our mechanical overlords. Boasting the lyrical prowess of former Autobeat Commander Wheelie Cyberman (Optimus Rhyme), the subversive electronica of the Game Boy-slinging Stenobot (Sink or Swim We'll Go Together) and the production acumen of the one and only Tron Juan, Products of Science also features a number of notable guest vocalists. Rachel Haden (That Dog, The Rentals), Jen Wood (Tattle Tale, The Postal Service) and fellow Optimus Rhyme alum Stumblebee lend their voices to these tuneful tales of android introspection and sci-fi majesty.
Though it represents a more collaborative approach to songwriting, Products of Science was still written primarily during the band members' daily commutes - the practice of which gave Supercommuter its name. Like its predecessor, all proceeds from sales of the album will benefit Child's Play, a charity dedicated to providing toys and games to hospitalized children worldwide.
