More information needed. What model Genesis? How is it not working? Not powering on? No video? No audio? Powers on but won't load a cart?

Ok as far as my understanding the Sega turns on, its the original model 1 genesis,
ive tried it with every cart and most of them give me a black screen but no actual gameplay!

Does the TV screen show static when the console is off and connected?
Mine did that (PAL model). If not, there's a connction problem between the tv and the console.
Also, I seem to recall the carts being veeeery tempermental, so give it several tries if the video connection isn't the problem
