Shot this a few days ago.. it's showing off a filter module more than the monotribe.. but
i really dig the monotribe and look forward to modifying the crap out of it.

Hey guys, I just uploaded a track with Monotribe sounding sorta Commodore 64-ish:

Hope you'll dig it!

I dunno about a monotribe but i would get a monotron just for my mixer aux bus.  That filter would be nice to have lying around.  Speaking of filters shit that looks awesome low-gain.

sorry for the bump but i guess its better than a new thread?

anyway now that its been out a while im really interested to see/hear the fancy things that people here have done with this?

im loving triggering it from the game boy so a few tracks should be appearing here and there soon.

Haven't been using mine much. Things will change when I have the free time to make a midi mod onto it. Wanna use it with piggy and lsdj.

I have been using mine a little bit synched with Game Boys. I set the Game Boy playing the song as the tempo Master, synched via link port with a 2nd Slave Game Boy that is just sending the CV "sound" to the Monotribe  -- that Game Boy is not sending anything to the PA, but the monotribe is.

Here's an example. Most of the intro to this track (except the noise channel highhat sounds and the little BEEP every 16 beats -- i did that so I could keep track of the downbeat in case anything goes wrong and i lose my place) is monotribe improv, while those Game Boy chains loop. When I'm ready to jump into the rest of the song, I trigger the next chains on the "song" Game Boy in Live mode around 1:45 and then cut out the monotribe when the real song begins:

I record its oscillator doing different things- it is noisy but warmer than any VST I have. That's it for now, I don't want to mod unless I have more than one. Plugged Stylophone into its filter, disliked the result. A white noise through the filter makes an okay hi hat.

Edit: I bought a Monotron, didn't read closely... Prices went down on those quite a bit making them handy part donors and enhancements for each other...

I'm thinking of doing a MIDI mod and wanna seize the opportunity to do the drums mod as well. Saw 2 schematics on the webz. One of them uses switches for the noise decay, and the other uses pots for that. I'd prefer the pots option, but the guy doesn't specify which pots they are (he only says "radioshack volume pot").

Has anyone done that? I know the pots for the kick/snare decays are 2k pots, but what about the noise decay?
