I want to mod my GBAs (backlight, clear - transparent cases). Can you give me some tips where can I buy clear GBA shells and backlights?

From what I've heard, backlighting is impossible but you can frontlight it using a GBA SP frontlight. I don't know if there are any cases available, but if there are, I would be interested too
I've got a clear-purple case like the one pictured that I'd sell for like 3 bucks, or I could sell a frontlit prosounded unit for 35 plus shipping.
This is actually clearish blue and it is as clear as they come:

You can only frontlight and AGB-001.
You need to use the frontlight unit from an AGS-001. AGS-101 will not work as it is a backlight.
This is a time consuming mod and can be expensive as you need to cannibalize an Advance SP.
What about those Afterburner kits that they used to sell for a really short while?

GBA backlight kits
Does nobody remember these!?!?

they were frontlight, as were the later mash-mods kits
Ah, really? A friend of mine had one modded for him several years ago - when the GBA was still Nintendo's current console and the Afterburner company was quite new - and certainly from the brief time I've spent with his console, it looks like a backlight
Certainly an extremely good frontlight anyway! Nice and even and bright.
Can you put here SP -> GBA screen mod???
You can't swap a frontlight screen with a backlit screen, thats not compatible.

It may be possible but you would probably have to solder from the board to the end of the ribbon cable. I might have to give this a try!

I tried this over a year ago. It should be possible.
I contemplated making custom circuit boards to use as an adapter, because soldering to the ribbon cable or the socket isn't easy. Really only possible by bending the pins in opposite directions.
I'd like to try it again. Anyone got a backlit SP with a (semi) broken LCD to spare?
