Hello all.

I've got another Sync question big_smile This time it's about maxymiser, and it's Sync24 option.

Does anybody know where I can find the schematic for a sync24 output plug?
as featured in this video.

It was supposed to be on the maxymiser site.. But I can't find it anywhere... sad

Also: Can you easily split such a cable to sync 2 different machines?

AFAIK it was only on the mailing list... gwEm is such a tricksy!

Yeah get on the mailing list and get the schematics.
What happens on the mailing list, stays on the mailing list tongue

Ah!
I'm on the mailing list! big_smile

It's like a secret club then....

just saw this..

there are certainly some tricksy updates on the mailing list smile i'm not sure i posted the schematic of the sync24 interface there, but i may have indeed described it.

its quite easy to make - an adapter connects to the printer port:

run/stop corresponds to data0
clock corresponds to data1
continue corresponds to data2

you might want to connect some current limiting resistors for safety

Thanks gwEm!
I'll try to make a cable tomorrow.

Shouldn't be that hard smile

Any tips on the resistors I should use?

i'm not 100% sure what i used any more, but you could figure it out - 5v, maybe 50mA maximum.. so a few hundred ohms probably

Wheyhey!

It works!

I've got a commodore 64 running Prophet64, which is syncing to an Atari 1040 ST running MaxYMiser, which is syncing to an gameboy running LSDJ big_smile

It's a total nerd-synch-fest over here!

This is the sexiest daisy chain I have ever heard tale of.

cool smile what value resistors did you use?

150 ohm on the run/stop and clock.
Seems to work. Nothing is smoking yet.

Didn't connect continue since prophet doesn't do continue tongue

It does however sound like there's a few milliseconds delay in triggering. But that could just be my imagination...

Cool. Let us see and hear the result of this!

I would be interested in making a sync cable between Game Boy and Atari ST. Could you please show me?

Sure will!
What I did to sync the gameboy with the Atari is to just make an Arduinoboy. Since the Atari syncs with Midi. smile

Didn't Ultrasyd used a 'sync' chain of Atari and Gameboy? Or is he just good at pressing 'play' at the same time? big_smile

Atari and gameboy (With arduinoboy) Both use Midi, so that's not really a problem smile

Sync24 is for old machines like the TB-303, TR-808 etc, And Prophet64 on the commodore.
That's why it's a different schematic etc.

If only everything  was midi...

This might be useful if you want to cheaply sync a gameboy and the atari to a pc or mac:
