i'm arranging a team and we're going to start working, but i suspect very few people here actually make legit games.

i was actually thinking it would be the other way around.
i'd like to see modern games that are retro in the same way chip music is.
I'm working on two... this is one: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jay l-adventur :0)
Actually one of my favorite past-times is programming TI-84+ calculator games. I actually made this: http://calcg.org/cgi-bin/files.cgi?id=1613 like 6 years ago.. I've been meaning to get on Game Maker and make some straight hyper arcade style games, 2D platformer shooters, space gallery shooters... etc.
Video Game developing is what I would hopefully plan on doing with my eventual Bachelors in Computer Science, though. It's been a passion of mine since Jr. High.

you probably haven't been here very long then. the are quite a few people on this forum that are either game developers, game music composers, sound designers or otherwise work in the industry in some professional capacity.
I make video games.
These three have chipmusic in them:

That last one has rather awesome soundtrack by Disasterpeace.
The other two have rather minimal protracker modules by myself.
What about a chipmusic.org gameboy game project? I'm starting to getting more and more into the GBDK, there are a few good tutorials about it.
