Personally, I think the dark grey around posts and stuff is a bit too dark, but it's not that big a deal.
The design really reminds me of the blipfest '09 site.

This is style is juuuuuussst right....... all smooth colors that you can stare at in the dark.

Also, arlen, just as a test, are you able to see all of the different grays in the following image? Twenty-one distinct squares from black to white on top level and in reverse at the bottom.
If not, the darkness of this thread may stem from an uncalibrated monitor.

black back ground and white text are the number one eye destroyer in most american homes. looks great but the practicality is of reading large amounts of text in this color scheme is painful to the reader. excited for the white theme.
