I often get serious interference with cellphones or while I'm on the skytrain while listening to my DMG. Every once in a while, I hear a deafening sequence of clicks while riding the skytrain (even without my phone), or when my phone rings in my pocket. Sometimes my GameBoy even crashes. Is there any way to prevent this, like shielding the DMG? This doesn't seem to happen with my GBA or MGB, even, but I prefer the DMG.

Is it pro sound modded? Or are you listening through the headphone jack?

It hasn't been pro-sound modded and I was using the built-in headphone jack. I don't really want to pro-sound mod this one, though. Maybe if I find my extra shells and order a few 6.35mm or 3.5mm jacks... but I do want to keep the sound un-modified (or not noticeably modified).
I have recently replaced most of the capacitors (only missing the hard-to-get-to ones on the front PCB), but I haven't tested this out on the skytrain yet. I don't think it made that much of a difference, though.

I am pretty sure it's your headphones and not the DMG. The crashes are unrelated.

I don't have those headphones any more (they broke; they were Sony MDR series earphones, which pick up static like a balloon), and now have an over-ear headset with far more isolation; maybe that'll make a difference.
How are the crashes are unrelated?

Also the fcc says you have to accept all inference. The crashes are probably a coincidence.

The reason I ask is not because I think a pro sound mod will improve it, but because there's some filtering that is bypassed with a pro sound mod that would help reduce interference.

It's never not crashed while receiving a call. I don't usually receive calls while I'm using it. In this case, it is equal.

I've also had problems like this (except the crashing). The only thing is that it seems to happen to my DMG in places that have little to no cellphone reception, instead. Is there any way to reduce the interference, or should I just stop using my gameboy in the car?

Maybe you could try using a GameBoy Pocket, Color, or Advance instead of a DMG; I've had no problems with those systems, but the buttons are smaller and hurt my fingers after a while (especially during hardcore Tetris and Pacman battles).
