I pay for a PT-10 and then you toss up another keyboard a day later, a hing hong no less. I'm really thinking about getting it.
Also, the PT-10 came today. Thanks for shipping it so fast.

Picked up the PT-10. Looks like it might be fun to play and bend.

What synth are you trying to get?

Man, such an awesome release. Really cool idea too. Writing chip songs from math-rock and vice versa. That "ego depletion" on track 3 at 2:40ish was 10/10 too.
Also, any chance for a cassette?

Yep, if the dmg-04 cable only has 4 pins you can do the following:

For those musicians out there; ever had that moment when you had something in your head, but couldn't write it down?

Yeah, that's every time I pick up LSDJ. For your main question though, I can't give you any technical advice. LSDJ is my first dive into composing music and music theory in general. However, if you want some examples of good, short, looping songs, listen to the Cave Story ost. Hopefully it'll give you some helpful ideas/inspiration. Sorry I can't give you anything more specific, but good luck!

I feel like I just struck gold finding a copy of the @ ep. Really good stuff. Too bad almost all their other merch is sold out ;_;
Also, replace the bandcamp link on that store page with this one: http://rsvptapes.bandcamp.com/album/ondoh-rsvp003. The other one is broken.

Cool read, thanks for the soundtrack link too. Reminds me that I still can't find my copy anywhere.

#1 Fan reporting in, thanks for the heads up!!

You mean #2, right?

Anyways, you couldn't have released this at a better time. I think I'm going to loop it for awhile and wish it were summer some more.
Moving Blues is probably my favorite track right now; it's a really comforting piece.

Couldn't I just solder the wire anywhere on the negative, lighter orange area?

Good news, everything works except for there's no panning for the left/right for the pro-sound, but a re-solder should fix that, I think.
Bad news, while I was removing some screws to fix the pro-sound, the orange wire for the backlight disconnected itself from the plastic tab below the light. I have no idea how to fix this. Does it just solder onto the pad? It looks like there's a bronze/copper colored film thing on the solder for the wire too.
What do I do?

Bumping with some progress. I have the holes drilled and everything fits into place and the prosound is in, which is great. I also replaced the power LED with an orange one; however, I might have damaged the board putting it in. The edges around the two soldering pads are a bit burnt on the bottom. How bad is this?
[Edit]
Just did a power test, the backlight looks beautiful, but the power LED is unresponsive. Kind of hoping I have it in reversed or something. Anyway, I'll try to finish this up tomorrow.

How have I not managed to find this video for so long? On the bright side, this is the definitive answer on how to install the variasuit, so hopefully others unsure of how to do it can look up this thread. Damn, I could've used this months ago (if I hadn't wrecked my first backlight). Lesson learned I guess.

Sure thing.

As for the link cable, I already ordered an easy_ps/2. I do have all the tools necessary to do this with a link cable if I had one though. As for soldering experience, I have none. However, looking over guides and other stuff online, it doesn't look too difficult.

Thanks. I can't wait to finally get this dmg up and running. LSDJ+bgb just isn't the same. Plus, I can finally play Metroid II: Return of Samus with a nice illuminated screen.

Necrobump.

After a month of waiting, all my stuff should be coming within this next week. Just got the backlight and am probably going to install it tonight. On the way is an easy_ps/2, 1/8 prosound jack, and some rad looking buttons.

No external power cable needed. I just cut a link cable in half and soldered the cable inside the keyboard. There are many tutorials online.

Great, I'll buy one of the keyboards then. Seems like buying the port is the way to go if you don't already own a link cable though. Most of them are around $5-10. Plus, the cabling will be much cleaner.
