Ok you've been warned enough. smile I kept on developing the output of the GXSCC by exporting separate tracks and doing all kind of crazy manipulations in multitracker afterwards. This time, my victims are two evergreen Finnish radio songs by legendary performers, and the musical style of the originals is somewhere between pop/rock and traditional.

The mood in both songs is melancholic (as the best Finnish classics tend to be) but they're still pretty catchy I guess.

This kind of software isn't probably the easiest to make money with, but good luck. smile

Lots of stuff going on in there... all the time. I like the progression, and the flipper sounds are great. smile Nice effects there before the ending!

Finally got to mess around with those Sunsoft drums, I'm so happy now. smile

What do you think of the sounds? This was my first non-GXSCC electro project. Just found Matt Montag's NES VST so I decided to try it out on this cover song.

Experience can be heard in it. Great combination, the music & the video. I love those clicking sounds you've got in there. smile

Has anyone come across the Sunsoft drum kit plugin? Something similar sounding would do as well. Recommend me something. smile

I write everything with MIDI so VST would be the nicest for me to use.

Finally got it. It took forever to download, I'm not sure if it's my connection or the filedropper (ftp?) limitation.

Now that sounded different. smile Most of the time not very musical to be honest. I see you put different versions in there. There was certainly issues in all of them, and the MIDI would require further editing to make sound it right, just like you said.

Funny how some of the long notes were played as short notes, and the "rhythm guitar" is an octave too low in the SPX mix. The drums in the 8bit mix sounded pretty good, reminded me of NES Batman! I appreciate your effort on this!

I'm afraid it's not that simple.. sad I had several MIDI files for each of the "doom" songs for different instruments - I had to GXSCC the tracks separately to be able to use different effects in mixing. I bet everyone here thinks this was pretty fucked up way to do the job. smile

However, here's another one to try out if you like. I've always wanted to hear this one as "the real thing" version. It's my original, written in early 2014.

Recently discovered a great application for chip sounds... All three are songs that I'm planning to record with real instruments, so these are prototypes. Imagine them sounding like your favourite doom metal band. wink

I'm still using GXSCC but tried some new tricks. For instance, adding echo can make a difference!

Devil Creations has two GXSCC albums. Both are simply prototypes for real-instrument versions (heavy metal). GXSCC haters should skip these, there's nothing fancy concerning the sound. :)
