Hi there,

KiGB stores it's sav-files in your Application Support folder.

That means: In Finder click Macintosh HD an navigate to the following folder:
Users/[your_username]/Library/Application Support/Bannister/KiGB

This folder contains the folder Battery RAM which contains your save files.

That's the Battery Ram folder already discussed in the thread. It's not working.

Brightness is not adjusted by the 'contrast' wheel. Brightness is determined by the current going into your backlight. You'll need to cut a trace on the pcb before you wire in your backlight driver too.

There is a seller on aliexpress that sell both the LCD and driver and have a good guide how to make it work.

Where is this seller located? How cheap?

There should be a small wheelwell right next to the cart reader directly under the 40 pin connector.

Turn it and adjust it until the screen is bright enough and has the right contrast.

So I do this sorta thing on the ChipWin group but I figured maybe I could bring it here.

Why do you choose chiptune as your means for creating music? Do you just like the sound? Is it the software? The hardware? Or is there more to it?

Hmmm that should be the correct folder...

Here's my thought, duplicate the rom, name it something crazy like "chiptunefuckingsucks.gb" and search for "chiptunefuckingsucks.sav" and you should be able to find the directory that KiGB is saving in.

Thanks for the suggestion -- I just tried this, and it seems to create a new save file when I rename it to "chiptunefuckingsucks.gb", but when I search for "chiptunefuckingsucks.sav" in Finder, nothing shows up. I've revealed all hidden files, and still nothing. Yet it still somehow saves data? hmm

That's really weird. Open up KiGB and try to find a directory setting and change the directory. If that doesn't do it, I'd say reinstall it or use an older version.

Why would you even want to do this when you could just use live mode to trigger the chains you want to use?

I get what you're asking, but it seems extremely counter intuitive considering LSDj's layout.

both. It can use some 1bit samples and / or use generated 1bit sound using the beeper, and / or use the AY soundchip

gotcha. Will take a look at the sounds it produces later today and probably pick this up soon~

Kind of unrelated:

ZX is sample based? Or can it produce its own sounds?

Tables are sequences of commands. They're like tiny programs that can be added to instruments (in the instrument screen), or to phrases using the A command (run tAble).

okay, i read the manual, so what do i do to make better sounding pulse instruments? with alittle more umph' and punch to it?

Tables, experimentation, and PRACTICE. I cannot stress that enough.

There's a reason why it took me 9 releases to get to a level where I feel comfortable.
