There are some products that do exactly what you're after, but in my opinion all of these are too expensive for what they really do:

the products that I found that convert USB Midi to Din Midi are:
- Kenton MIDI USB Host

- Mode Machines CerebelUSB

And I thought iConnectivity had something as well.

I think these are all the options currently available: MMC2IEC,uIEC,SD2IEC,1541 Ultimate,1541-III

(The SD2IEC and the uIEC are almost the same)

The best one is the 1541U, because it really emulates the 1541 drive, but it is also the most expensive one.

I'm using a SD2IEC myself. It works like a charm!
It doesn't have as much functions as the 1541U, but it's perfect for me. (But I don't have any experience with the other products)
