Hi everyone.
I'm new to the creative-wise part of the chiptune world, so I have a question.
I usually use movie maker to create the video I upload to Youtube (just a static image as background and the WAV file with the music).
I noticed that when creating chiptune videos, standard video quality alter the track (distorted sounds, missing notes etc).
Using the "Audio only" output options seems to work best, but it still alters a bit (noticed it with my last upload, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGRXg7q … =youtu.be, you can ear some extra sounds after each note in the first seconds and so on. But I like how they sound here lol)
So, question is, how do you usually create the videos you upload? Which softwares/output formats/resolutions do you use to get the best results out of your audio files? (In which format are your songs saved?)
Thanks smile

HI everyone smile Two days ago I posted my first LSDJ track I made and you helped me quite a lot with tips and tutorials big_smile
Now I need your help again. As title says, I recorded a chiptune track blended with guitars and bass. I would like to hear what you think about it and if you have some suggestion (mostly on equalizing/mixing/mastering these two different genres) smile
Thanks

Yay, tutorials big_smile will help a lot, thanks smile

Yeah, that sure helps a lot smile I will try next time to blend bass and kicks on wav channel. Actually, I could also just focus wav on kick and atmosphere notes while recording the real bass big_smile I'm eager to try a lot of combinations haha

Thanks a lot urbster1 big_smile
About the noise channel, I used it to do kick+snare and they ended up taking up all the free space in noise channel. Do you suggest to put less drums and more noises? (Or it was just a general advice for future tracks big_smile?)

Hi guys, as title and video description says, this is my very first time using LSDJ>
I'd like some feedback and constructive criticism big_smile

Listened only to the title track but it's really great, reminds me a lot of Meganoidi (italian ska-punk band) big_smile

Thanks to all for your help big_smile

Thanks a lot Merutochan, very exhaustive. I'll simply go through my guitar audio card and use my usual recording program to do the rest big_smile

Hi everyone smile
I've written my first song on LSDJ and now I'm wondering how to record it.
First, generic questions
1) How do you usually record your music? (Mic on GB, aux, emulator etc)
2) Is it normal to post-process (editing, mixing etc) chip music or is it like against the idea behind chiptune?

Now, some questions regarding me specifically. I have a BennVenn cartridge loaded with LSDJ 4.7 (and other trackers) and play it on GBA SP
1) I know there is an official BennVenn linker. Is it the only way to download savefiles from that cartridge or are there any other ways (like crafting one by yourselves or else)?
2) What if I linked the GBA to the PC via aux cable? Like, jack adaptor on GBA, aux to Pc audio card (or to guitar audio card with jack adaptor). Would there be some audio loss/distortion or would it be acceptable? I would try it myself but I'm still waiting for the GBA jack adaptor

Thanks for your help smile

Edit: sorry, the phone double posted

What's wrong with just putting in a DMG flash cart? Why try to goomba the rom?

Im totally out of money to buy a dmg cart lol will buy one in future

Hi all smile I've been reading a lot of forum threads and watching videos, but I haven't found any straight answer hmm
So I'll ask here, hoping you guys can solve this once and for all.
Is there a way to run LSDJ on a GBA EZ flash IV cart? I've been trying with lsdj goomba edit through goomba, but the kits sound shit. Above that, when choosing a note (A hold + dpad), going above C4 will stop hearing notes (only one every 6/7 can be heard). Also, when playing the song, it needs to repeat at least once the phrase before I can hear the notes.
Is there anything I can do? Any of you had these problems or can run LSDJ smooth?

Hi guys, just downloaded the FAT and it works great on ez flash iv. As a noob in the tracker world, I got a doubt: since there is no english user manual, are the commands and instrument-programming values the same as LSDJ (as it has a lots of guides)? Thanks

If I were you, I'd just pick up a copy of Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen and call it a day.

Got myself a copy of Golden Sun, finally can play it, already made my day big_smile

Thanks all for answers smile

Good day everyone big_smile
As title says, I just got a GBA SP to start my chiptune adventure.
But I have no idea on what to do now. I read a lot of threads about flash cartridge and I think EZflash IV will be my choiche. Is it ok?
Most important, I have no idea on which software to use. I tried a bit LSDJ on emulator, but nothing else beside it. I found out there is quite a lot of trackers for GBA, so I need help choosing one (and understanding the differences between them).
Last, but not least, how do you guys started playing chipmusic? I mean, did you just red the software manual and started trying randomly? Or were you helped by a tutorial/video/friends etc?
Thanks to all big_smile
