Ok, I won't rush on it smile

I think I'll end up using the windows version for midi syncing with Sonic Pi. I've been doing some test and it works very well. This is what I was searching for.

PocketChip has its charm, but I think the performance will be better using the pc version. Anyway, I still want to use PocketChip for playing around and connecting to other gear, so just one question: Can the PocketChip patterns be transferred to PC and viceversa without problems?

Thanks! smile

OK, a little progress. Using the two smaller sides of the cable...

... I get to transfer files between gb and pc, so the cable works (I was using the other conector for the adaptor). I still can't send midi ticks to the gb though. Will keep trying...

About the link cable, I readed some bad reviews about it. Some people saying it worked ok, some people saing it didn't worked at all. I searched and didn't found another similar cable for the GBA, so I ended up buying it, despite that bad reviews, hoping that it would work for me.
I have a DMG-01 too, but no same game carts for that and GBA so I cannot check if it's really cable's problem.
So, someone who has usb-midi adaptor working with GBA could share what link cable is using?

Hi, Im trying to synchronize my GBA with Nanoloop and PC, but It's not working. The USB-midi adaptor is in sync mode and I assured myself that the connections between it and usb and link cables are correct:

So I put nanoloop in slave mode, but when I send clock signal from the pc It doesn't seem to receive it, and stays paused. I'm using this cable for the GBA - adaptor connection (http://www.stoneagegamer.com/game-boy-g … tomee.html)

Any clue of what am I doing wrong here?

Well... the data transfer isn't working either and the usb cable is working ok with my mp3, so I suppose that there is a problem with the link cable. Anyone knows about a good game boy advance link cable to use midi-usb adaptor with?

Hey, pulse is working on pocketchip with a pocket operator smile . It'd be better to use a channel splitter too, because pocketchip's audio gets nearly completely lost if it's sent as stereo with the pulse to the PO. But it's syncing without problems.

I mean, make midi available on pocketchip only if you had that planned. Don't rush for having it done now. I'm just playing with different gear and with the syncing possibilities.

You are right, midi is not enabled on pocketchip.
But hey, I've seen that there is an option for sending out PulseSync that I didn't noticed before, so it can be synced with my pocket operators (for example)! This is great! I think I'll follow this path.

Thanks for your work!

Thanks for your help Johann smile
Sorry, I didn't mention that I want to use a pocketchip for this. So, pc midi software (master) to pocketchip with picoloop (slave). When you are saying a usb-midi cable you mean something like this, I suppose:

That sounds ok from the pc's point of view (I'm using this to control other gear, with usb side connected to pc), but now I should use the 5-din midi-in side on the pc and the usb side on the pocketchip, right? The problem is that I have no midi port on the pc to connect the midi-in side to.

Mmmmaybe I could try with a raspberry, but I doubt that the software performance would be good enough this way.

Thanks!

Anybody synced Picoloop as slave with pc midi software succesfully? What kind of cable do I need to get this working?

It gives me this error when trying to compile. Does this mean something to you?:

#error "SDL1.2 or SDL2.0 are mandatory, you should put -D__SDL12 or -D__SDL20__ in the CFLAGS"

Thanks

Great job you're doing here!! heart
Yesterday I got to get it working on my pocketchip. I tried building myself, but I started getting some errors about cflags and libsdl (probably due to my null experience on linux building). I have not access to my pocketchip right now, but I'll post the exact message later.
For the moment, I'm using garvalf's binary (v.075, I think) and it's working OK, but I would like to keep it updated, so I think I'll must start to learn about building.

Can't wait to play with this and the upcoming sonic pi's midi functionality smile
